April 2024 - A Month in Review
April showers (and snow) brought lot’s of new life and growth to Stardale thing spring. Lot’s of indoor activities and times to connect brought us closer together and showed what matters most this month.
Circle Time with Eugene
The girls connected with the amazing, Eugene Stickland to begin to craft the ideas for their next big project. Euguene always knows how to help the girls explore their ideas and creative side through discussions and writing. Having the freedom to share their thoughts and feelings is essential in the creative process.
Outdoor Drumming - Warming the Neighbourhood with Music
The girls came together to drum and spread joy and healing on a cloudy day. And don’t worry, they all got plenty bundled up first!
Class with Theater Calgary
We welcomed the very talented Jennie Esdale from Theater Calgary to teach the girls about movement, acting and all things theater in preparation for their upcoming performances and projects.
Recognizing Our Supporters and Volunteers
Volunteers make what we do at Stardale possible. During National Volunteer week we made sure to share our heartfelt thank you’s with all the people who help our program run. From serving and preparing meals to driving girls to class, every action helps to impact these young girls in a profound and lasting way.
New Songs and New Friends
We welcomed new girls into the group this month and many had the opportunity to get involved during our drumming classes. The seasoned drummers of the group have done a wonderful job supporting and teaching alongside our amazing instructor, Chantal Stormsong.
More Movement and More Laughs
Gaining confidence goes beyond a single activity or lesson. The girls had a blast learning more about movement and ways to find confidence and fun during their activities this month.
As we move into May we hope for warmer weather and sunny skies. The spring brings to us the opportunity for rebirth, renewal and opportunity and we look forward to seeing what’s in store for the months to come at Stardale.
