March 2024 - A Month in Review
March has come and gone and we reflect on some of the wonderful activities the girls of Stardale participated in as we welcome the warm breezes of April. From community presentations and performances to appreciating the simple days, there’s lots to share from our March adventures!
Presenting at Stride Management
Stardale shared in an opportunity for growth and learning in honour of International Women’s Day with the team from Stride Management. The agenda included engaging and insightful conversations and a great time had by all!
Cultural Teachings: Ribbon Skirts Edition
The girls of Stardale embarked on a deeply enriching journey at My Sewing Room thanks to our generous partners at Schlumberger, where they learned to cut, measure and sew ribbon skirts. This activity is always a favourite at Stardale and an endeavor rich with cultural significance. Each stitch and ribbon color woven into the skirts carries stories and teachings passed down through generations and it was amazing to see the girls become a part of that. Working alongside the knowledgeable and encouraging staff, the girls honed a new skill and deepened their connections with their heritage.
Performance at WaaPake Screening - THIRD ACTion Film Festival
Standing loud and proud the Stardale girls drumming group took to the stage as part of the THIRD ACTion Film festival. Having the opportunity to stand alongside some incredible creators and artists was a fantastic experience for the girls.
Making Time for Circle Connections
Holding a safe space for the girls to come, speak their minds and share is always an important part of our Stardale programming. The girls shared some wonderful circles this month and saw some excellent progress on their project as well.
As we march forward into April we strive to come together and find safety, harmony and support through our work. With the renewed energy and clean slate spring brings the girls have the opportunity to start anew once more. We all look forward to more warm weather adventures in the months to come and all the exciting new possibilities the spring holds.
