July: A Month in Review

Summertime is all about growth, and the Stardale Women’s Group has been busy cultivating not only their garden, but also their own personal growth. This July, the group has been hard at work tending to their garden, planting new seeds, and watching their efforts blossom into a beautiful and bountiful garden. But the growth doesn't stop there. The girls have also been participating in various activities and events that have allowed them to develop new skills, build relationships, and become more confident and independent individuals. From community outreach to personal development, this summer has been one of growth and blossoming for the Stardale Women’s Group.

Canada Day at Studio Bell

The Stardale Girls Drumming Group had the opportunity to perform at Studio Bell on Canada Day, showcasing their incredible talent and passion for music. What made this performance even more significant was the sharing of Indigenous culture and traditions in their music. It is essential to acknowledge and celebrate the Indigenous people of Canada, especially on a day as significant as Canada Day. The Stardale Girls Drumming Group's performance not only highlights the importance of cultural diversity, history and tradition but also serves as a reminder of the ongoing efforts towards reconciliation in our country.

Salads, Salads and more Salads!

There is something truly special about eating food that you've grown yourself. The taste is fresher, the colors are brighter, and the satisfaction is unparalleled. This is exactly what the girls of the Stardale Women's Group experienced this summer through our land based learning initiative. By planting and tending to their own garden,they have been able to enjoy a wide variety of delicious and nutritious vegetables and , all while learning important skills about agriculture, land based practices and sustainability.

A New Fundraising Initiative - Colouring it Forward

With every purchase, a portion of the proceeds goes directly to the Stardale Women's Group to help fund our programs and initiatives. Stampede Food Taste Testing

The Stardale girls were asked to judge the kids food choice awards again this year and got to sample some delectable bites from some of the most exciting vendors the Stampede had to offer.

Hope Feeds The Heart - Listening On!

Stardale Girls Drumming Group has made history by releasing its first-ever single titled "Hope Feeds the Heart." in June and has been steadily promoting it all summer long. Our all girls drumming group showcases their talent further in this new song written and performed by the girls. "Hope Feeds the Heart" is an uplifting and inspiring song that encourages listeners to hold on to hope even in challenging times. The song's rhythm and lyrics are powerful, and they serve as a reminder that hope is the fuel that keeps one going. The release of this single is an achievement that marks a new era for Stardale Girls Drumming Group, and it is sure to captivate audiences.

Ice Cream Float Judging

There are few things more enjoyable than indulging in sweet treats and relaxing in the warm sun. The Stardale girls gathered to taste test a variety of craft sodas and crown their favourite. It was a close race but Grizzly Paw Orange Cream Soda came out ahead!



Just Keep Swimming

The Stardale girls made a splash during their swimming day! They had a blast cooling off and enjoying each other's company in the refreshing water. Some of them even braved the diving board.

Sneak Peak: September 30th, 2023

Stardale Women's Group is excited to announce our next event, which will take place on September 30th in honor of National Day for Truth and Reconciliation. This day is an opportunity for us to reflect and learn about the history and experiences of Indigenous peoples in Canada, and to work towards reconciliation. At our event, we will be hosting a variety of activities and discussions that will focus on reconciliation and the importance of this day including a film screening, Indigenous Owned Business Market and an evening film screening of Bones of Crows. We hope to see many people in attendance, so we encourage everyone to RSVP and join us for this important event!
